What information will insurance companies ask for?

When you request a quote for your home insurance, we’ll always ask you a few simple questions about you and your home.

Some of the questions asked may include some of the following:

• full property address
• who will occupy the home
• type of building (house, unit, townhouse etc)
• the approximate year the home was built
• construction of the walls and roof of the home
• the full replacement cost of the home (full rebuild costs based on today’s values – NOT sale value.
• type of security installed
• whether the home will be used for business
• your personal insurance and claims history
• level of policy coverage selected
• amount of excess to be paid in the event of a claim occurring
• any optional extras such as your personal contents

The answers you provide will then help determine the total premium to be charged by the chosen insurer.
